Surge Protectors & Wall Outlets

Avoid Heavy-Duty Surge Protectors

Heavy duty surge protectors and their outlets are not recommended to be used to power any AUDIO Cu devices. These devices often prevent the Transmitter from detecting Receivers and severely reduce audio quality.

Heavy duty surge protectors often look like the black power strip in the example image and are labeled so on the device.

May Cause Issues: Type-3 Surge Protectors (most common)

If a surge protector cost between $10-$40 dollars and looks like the white power strip in the example image, it is most likely a Type-3 Surge Protector.
These types of surge protectors often work fine, but may cause issues on occasion for some users.

If you are experiencing ongoing audio quality issues, we recommend switching to non-protected power strips & outlets, see examples below
